A Visit from Rusty

Last night we were able to take Katelyn's dog Rusty to visit her. It was wonderful watching her be able to pet him. Yes, her hands are starting to work again! I think every night we visit we will be surprised by what she has accomplished.

Yesterday was a good day but also difficult as it was her first full day at this facility. New faces, new food, new doctors, etc. She was nauseas and vomitted 3-4 times yesterday and so they are taking a look at some of her new medications. Please pray for this to resolve quickly.

She was in good spirits when we left though exhausted and wants to come home. The road before her is not a short one though. She will probably be there a week or two and then we are looking into whether she can continue rehab in an outpatient setting or transferring to a longer term rehab facility. PLEASE pray for wisdom and decernment for us as we research this and for the doctors to guide us. Praise God for our friends who are nurses and for all the connections we have with people who are helping us with this research! Jodie - you rock!!!

A huge praise is that one of God's angels continues by her side. The nurse that prayed with her when she arrived has asked to be Kate's nurse in the evenings. Katelyn has asked her to pray with her every night and read the bible with her. WOW! God you continue to amaze us!!! (Pray for protection for this nurse due to the separation of church and state issues. Because Kate asked though, she should be ok.)

Also, please pray for the other kids that are in there with her. Her tender heart is saddened by what they are battling too.

Finally, please lift Becca up in your prayers too. It's been a long journey for her too and she so much wants her big sister to just get better and come home.

Thank you everyone for your continued prayers and support!

My heart cries out to the Lord for you. I was reading a book on fasting and this was impressed upon my spirit Saturday night after speaking with you. I'm sorry I was not obedient and giving this to you sooner.. This is not an edurance test, but a an experience of the all-suffciency of God. I also wanted to let you know that the Prayteam prayed for you all on Sunday morning.

God is near to all that call him.

Hi Jeanette,

I can't tell you how sorry I am to know all the trials God is allowing your family to go through right now, however I do find complete comfort in knowing that He who allows this is also in complete charge and is orchestrating all of this according to his perfect plan. Our loving Lord allows what he hates to accomplish what he loves and in the end He will cetainly receive the glory while His precious Katelyn is able to testify to his wonderful grace and mercy. I am so thankful that we have a loving God that we can always count on to be faithful and keep His promises.

I saw the picture of Katelyn on the hoyer lift at pool therapy. Regardless of all she is going through she is an amazing young girl. She has such a beautiful smile and spirit. What an inspiration she must be to all who meet her and know her story. She is in our prayers daily and will be until she has recovered completely.

Love,
Marnie

Katelyn,
We sure miss you and are finding it really hard to not at least be able to come visit. We check the blog daily, are praying alot and are encouraged by God's sending this amazing nurse to pray and read with you. No small thing. Will pray about the yucky tummy! We were so excited to read you've got some use back of your hands - i started to cry. And how do you rate getting to have a dog in the hospital?!!! Asia can't wait to get to come visit soon, so let us know the minute it's allowed. We love you! Tara and Asia
